The Day The Tower Caught The Embers

This is a poem I wrote in honor of 9/11 a while back.

I never saw it on the news

I was to young to remember

The day the towers caught the embers

Early in September, 

On a day that seemed so bright

 Our American dream Fell into the ashes, 

As bitterness took flight 

I may not have known the victims

That where patronized that day

Or shed those tears

Or understood their pain

But, even someone like me

Will remember that day

It's gone done in history

As 9/11 Patriot day, Amen-Misty Clayton 2013
