2000 Miles Away

2000 Miles Away

A Poem by MistressEbzo
"

Pretty self-explanatory; I'm a mess.

"
The week begins, a subtle promise
Or a chance to fall again
My eyes tear around, searching
When I realise you're gone
Another smile I will feign.

They say you're two thousand miles away
And the room starts to fade
The physical kicks in, heaving
The ache I had forgotten
Oh, the price left unpaid.

Even though we're apart now
In every sense of the word
Escape for some air, breathe
I become every cliché
My ears have ever heard.

A mere three days have passed
Feels as long as the months I've been alone
I miss your smile, your touch
Times like these make me realise
I've become nothing but your clone.

Really feeling the passion here. "I become every cliche/ My ears have heard." Very real feeling-- I mean like a confessional, very honest sounding. Makes your words strong.

This is really good, the concept is easy to relate to and your writing flows well.

Resentful of being in love, but by the end surrendered to it? Thats my take. Interesting, your work isn't predictable or 2D, and they serve as a very good window into your life.

About
My, I do find this blank canvas rather intimidating. A great white expanse, waiting for one to fill it with, what ought to be, wit and intelligence. I'll try my best... My name's Ebony, I'm almost .. more..

Change. Change.
