DreamsA Poem by Karthika MuruganSomethings are always hidden
Everytime the kid
aimed for the sky, She was brought down by their cry. Everytime the kid Packed her bag, She unpacked it Hearing them nag. Everytime the kid Cleared her throat, She couldn't voice Because of their threat. Everytime the kid Decided to grow, She was broken By the stones they threw. Everytime the kid Dared to dream, She stopped halfway Listening to them scream. And Now, Everytime the adult Wanted a hand to hold, The broken kid inside Decided it's time to unfold. Unfold the wings that she had hidden, And fly to the dreams That were once forbidden. © 2020 Karthika MuruganAuthor's Note
