Rise and Fall

A poem about success and failure

I am waiting to rise 
But I am prepared to fall

As hard as I've tried 

Failure is common to all

If I reach new heights 

Will things really change ?

Or am I too used to being the same ?

The fame, seems to be driving me insane

One day I will soar with the greats

Or has that day passed 

And am I too late ?

I wish I knew my fate

I'm stuck in the middle

Coming from the bottom 

I'm chasing money

Which is sure to be a problem

Either way I shall strive today

For tomorrow there's a brighter day

If I fall and if I fail

Just know I tried, and wish me well
