But Not My Dream

But Not My Dream

A Poem by Cranky Old Bear

But Not My Dream

Bring the memories back to me ~ Where they fall..
Upon my heart...Cradled amidst colorless limbs..
Carried by an empty space....Mid a dark stars call..
Kneeling to the blaze of suns...Invisible rims..

Fallen amidst the blues and their many wings.
Mid their flight..Slipping through an air-lifted ship..
Sailing away ~ 'Yond the threshold of lost kings..
Mid the battles of the crowning ivy's grip....

Tell me again... Why I can not live again..
Beyond my youth of evergreens latest fashion..
As dreams turn away..That I remember when..
That compares to love and all its passion..

Where the very best ~ Can be no more or less.
Whilst shadows speak without moments like this..
Where there are crossing seas..That many bless..
And eternity is sealed amid a kiss..

A knight can not be defeated by no other..
Hand other then his own ~ Said amid his terms..
Nor can he live a day.....Without another..
Hand in hand down the lane of willow'd ferns...

Take away the night and day ~ but not my dream..
Don't let my feet take me away from the where ~
I have been....Where forever always did seem..
To be carried neath....A bonnet upon her hair..
