Heartless

Heartless

A Poem by MrV

Many people disagree with me, when I say I have no Heart.
But they don’t understand the things I mean, so let’s go to the start.
It’s true, yes, it is. Though you may protest. But really, I hope you’ll see, that it’s for the best.
Long ago, I had my Heart torn out, and when I picked it up, it seemed as thought it shouldn’t be subject to such harm.
And so, with the utmost care, I took it and cut it up, as many pieces as I could, to be fair.
Then those pieces, I ave away, ’til none remained. TO friends, and loved ones, any I felt should have a part of me.
So that all the people I care about could always have a piece of me to cherish.

So even though it is no longer mine, no worries for my Heart.
And know, my love won’t perish.

I’m with you always, dear ones, near and far. Just put your hand across your breast and know.  I gave you my Heart.
