Fallen Angel

Fallen Angel

A Poem by MrV

The Angel fallen, in darkness lays.   No effort, however great, by light to pierce the torrid prison may brighten.   Long and taxing the effort, a task of many years, a quest in vain. Every moment of hope erased. The Angel, lost? The seeker, so worn, so exhausted. Nearly unable to go on. Smashed down at every turn, ground into the dust. For so long, convinced the effort was a must. Now, so little hope, all resource expended. Alone and cold in the empty night, a victim of too far hopes and above earth dreams. The seeker lays down, quest forgotten, Angel no longer the center of his drive. Eyes, so weary, slowly close, and all is forgotten...all pain is gone. Peace is found, serenity. Lost ever in the eternal abyss.
