Endless Longing

Endless Longing

A Poem by Missy Lorraine
"

A sort of love poem for those that never get enough of them!

"
I long for the day we meet,
for our very first kiss,
for sweet passionate words,
and for you to say how much you love me.
I long for you.

Oh my love how I wish I knew you,
I dream every night of things that may be,
I long to lay beside you
wrapped up in your strong, protective arms.
I long for you.

I long for you to hold my hand
and to talk to me sweetly,
for you to truly love me
and want me more than anything else.
I long for you.

My chest aches with my longing for you,
release...I call for release
but it will not come,
the aching will not leave my body until you come.
I long for you.

When I had written this poem, I did not know who I was longing for. All I knew at that time is that I wanted someone.

It seems to me we can never give up longing and wishing while we are thoroughly alive. There are certain things we feel to be beautiful and good, and we must hunger after them. Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. If some longing goes unmet, don't be astonished. We call that Life.
