Embers

Embers

A Poem by Speak in Silence

as I sleep
the embers of your
flaming and desiring heart
brand my skin
slowly seeping into the bitterness
and loneliness of the blackness
of my own heart
if I could only find your love tonight,
the embers may lay to rest,
burnt out in the nothingness within
alone and heartless
I lye,
dead to the world
and to your touch
I never wanted anything else
but you,
but the burn of your embers
is catching the rain of my world
on fire

"burnt out in the nothingness within
alone and heartless
I lye, "
A honest and direct poem. I like the above lines a lot. I like realistic poetry. Allow the reader to learn and understand the writer's thoughts. No weakness in the outstanding poetry.
