Alice

Alice

A Poem by Speak in Silence

My mind is filled with thoughts I cannot say
My thoughts are filled with actions I cannot display
I've always let you down with my filthy habits
I'm caught in a lie...
Call me Alice
Call me anything...anything but myself
Conscience a killer
"Find yourself, help yourself...bring yourself home"
My soul can do nothing but run...nothing but hide
Maybe I'm done, maybe I'm gone

Disapate into thin air like shadows to Rome...
But you scream whispers in my ear...
"Hold on.."

Author's Note

Speak in Silence
I'm so glad to be back! I haven't even attepted to write anything since November (and even the one I wrote and posted on here I thought was awful)...BUT I do have reasoning my good people. I've been going through more personal problems than I usually have had to deal with, but that's a story for another day. Plus I've had a bit of writer's block.

I was listening to the song: Intensity in ten cities by Chiodos when I thought of this idea. This poem is a snipet of some of the things I have been experencing. I really hope everyone enjoys! I hopefully will be writing more soon but I do have other activities I have to attend to now but I promise not to forget about you!

Belief and his arms reached out from the falls at Devils Court House, the spells of the rhododendron seemed a potion his lips parted just so ,can't he hear,I am gone why hang on,I am gone why pull me back under the waterfall ? My all consuming why ?

Sometimes that inner voice that's dying to heard can be louder the conscious thoughts within the screamer. You illustrated this well in this unique and creative poem. Great job. :)
