A Chapter by Speak in Silence

Today I was walking down the street when I noticed her. She was sitting on the corner of Bay 19th and Apollo street. She was huddled up in her black trench coat, with a silver can. Her blonde hair blowing in the chilly November wind. Everyone walked by her in swift motions. She opened her jacket and took out a bottle of liquor. She took a big gulp, then attempted to stand up. The wind almost knocked her off her feet. I noticed now that I was just standing in a crowd of people, watching her. I shook my head and continued on my way home, hoping she would be there in the morning.
