One Is Company

One Is Company

A Poem by Rochelle Tyler

I will try to enjoy this silence
(the empty spaces
which hold the air)
climbing up
and over used counter-tops
filling wooden cabinets.

It serves the most
lonesome of company.

And [After a while]
I am confident
that the room will grow quiet
and not agonize me like so,

but rather,
we'll find a use for one another
and learn to expect each other
at the end of every evening.

Yes
this shall be the case
(for I have already began to try)
and the silence has taken
an understanding
to my position.

I like the editing. At the end, I might put brackets around "For I have already began to try" as opposed to "This shall be the case". Other than that, I love how your structuring things. You have a lot of talent, dear.

Silence is the best company, you cannot be happy in anothers company until you are happy in your own company

I really like that... fighting the lonely nights by embracing them instead of letting it drive you crazy. Very creative write.
