A Poem by Rochelle Tyler

I feel you restricting
my insides,
firm grasp around
my gut,
tying knots tighter
than air
can pass through.

Your presence hits me
with a force
so strong, slithering
beneath my skin.

Like venom,
you take me under,
numbing me
from the heart down,
as I lie
limp in your arms...

Unconscious
Suffocating

And you hold me there,
squeezing me,
hungry for control.

Waiting for my death.
Swallowing me whole,
never even tasting
the life you preyed.
