Eisoptrophobia

Eisoptrophobia

A Poem by R. Ellison
"

Fear of Mirrors.

"

He stares with a grin, tempting me to jump

To fly, to stare down the world in a moment

Cocky B*****d

My doppleganger, my very essence

Watches me from every reflection

Mimicking my life in a marienette show

Of his own design

In time to every moment

Every movement

Watching

Immitating

Laughing when I turn my head

Where I go he follows

Knows what I know

Sings and smiles and dances when I do

Always in mockery of who I am

He finds me in the oddest of places

Haunts me days over

His lop-sided grin taunting

Willing

Planning

He shatters

I run
