Tapestry

Tapestry

A Poem by R. Ellison
"

Life's weave, written out.

"

With a gentle pull, a subtle tug,

Your days wind through their course

This strand, your own, pulsing, living

Weaving into the fabric of the world

It curls and twists through the folds,

mingling with the strands around it

Never joining, always its own

This dull green strand,

No more than a solitary thread

Sees no end to the forest it wends through;

its home.  Never to see

The design it helps create

The part it plays

Never joining, always its own

It passes beautiful golds,

winds past rich, bright reds;

It dances with a purple for a time,

Races with a velvet blue.

But always, never joining, always its own
