I'm sorry, OregonA Poem by Michaella R.I'll engrave myself in the world for her, so I'm with her all the time.Don't be surprised If I just up and left If you wish to Let's board the train illegally It'll take us to Seattle And in the journey we chat how I saved you From unpleasant men We'll stop to California, Santa Monica Peace in the silent pier, just us under the mysterious stars we melt in each other, and descend I'll flirt with men as you watch then I'll kiss you in front of them It's a middle finger to whom that outcasted we brilliant lovers Because it's fun, and 'cause I love you, the only one You with me wherever I go I'll be your first mate, you're my captain We plunder booty, 'cause you like it Dramatic, Damaged girls coupled Still I'm glad You're who I sleep with at night even if on the bed of a truck At work break we settle in the truck I pull down your beanie, cover your face close your eyes, you need sleep I set a perfect timer, I guard your calm And when you wake up, We're in New York, The fireworks explode atop The cheap beer in our system We've sobered up, climbing the Everest I revealed it was my dream In the cold we huddle up frozen to one another, we love each other. I'm sorry Oregon, I have to leave I desire you with me, we kiss on the roads But if you don't want to, I won't stay But I'll engrave the world with me So when you escape Oregon I'll be New York, Seattle, Everest, Santa Monica Beach, the pretty girl on the train I'll be the girl you kiss in front of men Or the girl that rests you in your truck You'll see a me in everywhere you are If you escape Oregon, you'll still be with me. © 2024 Michaella R. |
