The Buffet

The Buffet

A Poem by Michaella R.
"

I hope I don't gatekeep too much when I love

"

The thirst to be needed

Fills my tugging heart

I sway to the cacophony of the drowning"asphyxiation,

clawing and gnawing at the fragile skin of you.

It’s the gritting of the bones and flesh in me

The squealy, enthusiastic music made

Of your thumb that rubs my teeth

They make noise, rejoice

I’m enraptured by you

And when we meet,

I’d like to munch, to eat,

Devour the segments whole

I’d be full of every fraction,

I’d carry you ‘till I fade

And it’d be like a buffet

One I’d always crave

I’ll have you cling inside

For I fear, I am unsure

If I’ll ever get to savor

Such flavorful consumption once more.
