Butta Fingaz

Butta Fingaz

A Poem by MissDivinejacque

Butter Fingers

They say, "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach . . ."

Then I must have let him starve

he packed and took everything we ever made together

Dumbfounded! and i think i might be scared

Momma says, "catching a man is easy

its the keeping that drives women insane."

maybe he just didn't mean it

when he said he'd give me his name

Then along came a spider, skip the formalities we'll call her Sue

Its an extreme shock to the ego,

when you find another woman can love your man better than you do

Once I forgot a meal; then forgot a hug; forgot a few kisses; and left without saying goodbye

Momma why didn’t you tell me

that even the strongest of men can cry

Days would come, nights would go,

and my mind just got preoccupied

Nights would come, and days would go,

and then he found her on the side

And then the final stand!

Momma warned me bout days like these

But she forgot to tell me when he says, "Don't leave!"

Then you just don't leave!

Unbeknownst to me, I'd conceded,

and am forced to search for other fish in the sea

Stand straight! And smile child,

you can't let momma see

Regretful, and a little embarrassed,

most time you lose, you rarely win.

Oops let him slip through my fingers,

it those damn butter-fingers again.
