SelfA Stage Play by Miss LillianA short scene for a stage play, in our classes we were told to write a scene where a character meets their younger/older self.
Young: You again?
Old: Me again? Do you know me? Young: I thought I did, maybe not. Old: Where have you come from? Youth: North. Old: I was north once. South once too. All the same these days. Young: I'm heading south. Old: Why? Young: I've never been. Old: Nothing there. Young: Nothing here. What's that? Old: This? It's just my cup of tea. Young: Your what? Old: Cup, of, tea. You: Never heard of it. Where did you get it? Old: Had it for years. Was given it. Young: By who? Old: I don't know, an old woman. Young: May I see it? Old: You may as well keep it. No use to me, not anymore. Young: My cup of tree. Old: Tea. Young: Tea. What does it do? Old: Oh not a lot, you look at it. See. Young: What's that? Old: Youth. Young: Looks familiar. Old: I always thought so. Young: What will you do with out it? Old: No doubt I shall die at some point. Young: That's sad. Old: Is it? Young: I thought so. Old: Someone else will take my place. Young: I'm sure of it. Not yet though. Old: No not just yet. Young: I think I want to leave. Old: To go south? Young: That's right. Old: It's lovely south. Young: Not much there though. Old: No.
