Monsoon

Monsoon

A Poem by Nina St. Moritz
"

A piece inspired by the midnight showers in the Arizona spring.

"
Soft and soothing,
a warm lover's caress.
The air is alive,
the world at rest.

Dark and calming,
once more has light gone.
A blanket of shadow,
no right, no wrong.

Silent and peaceful,
all sound put to rest.
Nothing but drifts
of our peaceful breaths.

A flash of light,
a pulse for the earth-bound.
A shock in our hearts,
a thrill all around.

A boom through the silence,
deep and empowered.
Firm through our bodies,
nature's strong glower.

A prickle of change,
then the rush of the tears
falling through night,
cleansing fears.

The minutes tick by,
the tears fade away.
The light disappears.
The sound held at bay.

Warm night returns,
as does the dark moon.
In silence, we stand.
thus ends the monsoon.
