Giving Up

Giving Up

A Poem by Monica Taylor

I might be the saddest girl in the world

I might have stories left untold

But my soul, i probably sold

So now im better off cold

Nothing left to say

Nothing left to create

No hoping on another day

Here’s hoping I’ll stay

To fall in love again

Or fall for another scam

Or to turn into the right woman

For another useless man

Breathe in and out i know

But with each breath my desire goes

And every tiny glimpse of hope

Turns into a supernova of “nope”

I’m still here

The message is clear

I have nothing left to fear

I’ll be a sparkle in a tear
