Little Star

Little Star

A Poem by Monica Taylor

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

You know who you are

You shine radiant and bright
You make rainbows in the night
You love with all your might

You dance in puddles
You make fun of struggles
And love cuddles

You sing tunes in your head
When you wish you were dead
And can't leave bed

You land on your feet
You draw your lines neat
And then take a seat

Under the winter sky
While you try not to cry
And kiss pain goodbye

Tis the season
The air is freezing
But There's a reason

To keep believing
To keep breathing
To keep seeing

The moon and stars around you

There is a mixture of optimism and sadness to your write - a delicate balance in the wordplay and stanza flow (which I find delightful) - a great read and thought-provoking piece! I really enjoyed this... :-)
