Power OutageA Poem by Monica TaylorA poem about addiction to our cellphones
There's a power outage
Everyone is losing their mind. But isn't this how it is all the time? No screen to see. No places to be but by yourself So are you hopeless? Are you lost? What have we really abandoned at all costs? This is a lack of distraction. A need for actual human interaction Everything is gone. Where is my screen? I wanna call my mom. Someday I'll write a song About that day the power went out And all the things that are wrong. But for now I'm just sitting Wishing. Hoping. Praying. Dying For my little screen To guide me and tell me what life means.
