Conversations

A Poem by MissMaureen

I’m more of a face to face conversationalist.

I feed off of people’s reactions, facial expressions, eye contact.

That’s just who I am.

It’s sad that some people don’t get this,

Call me antisocial without knowing your facts.

Goddamn.

I wish I could change, get used to technology,

But what would that do?

Be rid of a part of me?

No.

I can’t.

I won’t.

But times are changing,

and sadly,

I must change with them.

it is sad life is so overwhelming there is so much to do and it's hard to excel at any one thing at the risk of seeming unbalanced, I mean one must study one foreign language instead of 15 for instance which does not result in mastery of anyone and one cannot, but we must converse all of us to a great extent and he or she who does not risks a great poverty of mind and spirit and will need friends but we must not draw our attention too much away from our own good works, which include artistic endeavors for some of us, there is a science and skill and mastery of every earthly thing and that is heavenly in a way that we strive and strain for such perfection but it is so distant and far off yet at times we seem to be at the cusp of such knowledge, I don't mean to be vague, but I like what you say I mean here
