Panic

Panic

A Poem by Liz
"

Eh, felt like writing.

"
And all of a sudden,
I'm being stabbed,
Right in the throat.

All of a sudden,
There's a weight,
A cinder block,
Right on my lungs.

All of a sudden,
The room drifts
Away.

My ears
Pounding
Pounding
Pounding.

My lungs
Choking
Choking
Choking.

In.

Out.

My heart,
Frantically
Ba-
Ba-
Ba-bumping
Against my
Too-small ribs.

Shaking,
Sweating,
And I'm so
Cold
And so scared.

And I'm
Dying.
I'm sure of it.
I can't breathe,
I'm choking.
I'm
Dying.

I hear,
From a distance,

Are you okay?

And I nod.
This isn't the first time
I've nearly died.

Author's Note

Liz
Just felt like writing this I guess. Not very good, kind of one of those ideas that bump around in my head all day, but once I get to actually writing, they just kind of fizzle into...Bleh. I dunno though. Kind of a different style that I'm used to maybe, I dunno. I really don't like the last three stanza things.
