Unfair.

Unfair.

A Poem by Liz
"

This is what happens when I start thinking.

"
If I can
Choose
What kind of soda I
Want,
Why are people
Dying
From unclean
Water?

If I can
Complain
About long lines at
Restaurants,
Why are people
Starving to
Death?

If I can
Cry
When I need a
Shot,
Why are people
Falling victim
to
Illness?

If I can
Choose
My own religion,
Why are people
Being killed
Over theirs?

If I can
B***h
About my parents,
Why are people
Losing theirs to
War?

If
We
Are all on this
World
Together,
Why can't
We
Act like it?

Those
Kids,
They're absolutely
Correct,
When they say that
Life
Isn't
Fair.

I am overwhelmed by the message here. Such a heartfelt poem.Though most of us would like to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to this, the truth remains:these dreadful conditions still exist.

Ignorance is not always bliss.

Good poem.

The repetition in this poem really is powerful. A wonderful poem. Ignorance is bliss they say.
