Shapes

Shapes

A Poem by Liz

I asked what the
Universe was shaped like,
(You told me no one could ever know)

I told you what I
Imagined it to be,
(Dancing girls and
The leftovers of your words
As they pop like bubbles on my skin and
The rain and
An old man’s last breath)
And I told you I’d find it.

You told me
(As you laughed)
That I’d be dead
By the time I got there.
