Black Coffee

Black Coffee

A Poem by Liz

You'd like that adventure,
Wouldn't you?
You'd like to
Open your eyes to see
The limbs of a stranger
Tangled with your own.

You'd like to
Take your coffee black
In a city full of strangers.

You'd like to
Fall in love through
Glances on the subway.

But perhaps you'd only like
Photographs
And stories from
The comfort of familiarity.
Because
Of course
You don't even like
Black coffee.

I cannot give you adventure,
But I stay on my side of the bed
And I'm scared of subways
And I'd be happy to ask
If you'd like cream in your
morning cup of conversation.

[You'd like to] is overused here. Other than that good job. I enjoyed the read.I however love black coffee and would kill to get it if denied other options.
I am a fan of cream so perhaps you could come up with an additional use for it.

I think this is a very sweet and cute poem, and I really enjoyed the ending. My only problem with it is that the breaks make it seem a little bit choppy. So I would suggest slightly altering them (even though it'll make the lines longer) so that it flows a little bit easier. Then again, to each their own. :)
