Black CoffeeA Poem by Liz
You'd like that adventure,
Wouldn't you? You'd like to Open your eyes to see The limbs of a stranger Tangled with your own. You'd like to Take your coffee black In a city full of strangers. You'd like to Fall in love through Glances on the subway. But perhaps you'd only like Photographs And stories from The comfort of familiarity. Because Of course You don't even like Black coffee. I cannot give you adventure, But I stay on my side of the bed And I'm scared of subways And I'd be happy to ask If you'd like cream in your morning cup of conversation.
