FlorenceA Poem by MissKayPYou're not supposed to be here a visitor who has arrived too soon you notice the uneasiness of the hostess who lets you proceed as if normal
but the heaviness in your stomach and dryness in your mouth is unmistakable wishing you had a different traveling companion with the scenery being the same but the colors brighter noises softer edges smoother
Your feet feel the street while your mind is a kite in full flight barely missing the tree branches far from its puppeteer
around each corner of these maze like streets you catch glimpses of another self
This is the person who belongs here
they are sipping coffee in a quiant cafe sitting just beyond the glass window
or holding a handsome hand glasses clanging, warm light laughter, ease
vision becomes sharper other self comes again into focus they're walking alongside you
You're fingers stretch out to pierce this membrane But an entrance is nonexistent
you are here
your jaw tightens eyes swell, vision blurs taking in the beauty of this city © 2013 MissKayPReviews
