First poem that is shared with you

I never understood how time works when you are around.

One moment - one year - one eternity.

Now or tomorrow? 

Before, I thought it was a well known fact:

time equals distance over speed. 

But how far away is that home I find only in your arms?

And how fast do I get from laughter to tears, 

from me to you, 

from “Nice to meet you” to a million words unspoken all at once in a glance? 

Oh, how smart everyone must be

for understanding how it all works and not letting their worlds 

turn and twist around something so unsettled as you.
