My Suit

My Suit

A Poem by Shraddha Pandey
"

A body image poem

"
I must be wearing a suit.
What else could these thick layers
between bone and skin be if not a suit?
"fat" you say? no no
that can't be right...can it?
This suit is warm and soft and comfortable
not like this "fat" you speak of...
...but If I am wrong, what to do?
The zipper is stuck and I cannot escape.
I need someone to help me but no one comes close.
my suit repels them.
I no longer like my suit anymore
this hot and uncomfortable thing that clings like flesh.
This repulsive "fat" that is stuck to my body.
My old suit with the broken zipper.

I've read this before, I remember, but I thought I reviewed it but I see that I didn't, so here it goes: I think this is inspired and I read it like a great metaphor for what so many hate about so many. This is one of those daily poems that shoulder be read daily. Wonderfully explained and expressed! tyfs

Well done! Great effort. This poem should have attracted more readers if this site was really about good poetry.
