I Am DifferentA Poem by MissDarkFaerieThis is a straight-forward poem... and the 2nd time I posted this. I hope you like it... again!
I Am Different
I am an uncommon girl who is called a “dyke”
I wonder why people hate other people who are different
I see their hatred as I walk in the halls or on the streets
I want this hatred against us to stop now
I am an uncommon girl who is called a “dyke”
I pretend to hide this part of me to protect myself
I feel like I’m being torn apart, I want to cry out!
I don’t understand why I feel I’m about to break!
I cry, “Release me from this pain, please, make it stop!”
I am a soft-hearted girl who has her own demons to face
I now understand what other people had to go through
I tell them “release this pain or it will eat you alive”
I dream that one day, we will have no more hatred against others who are different
I try not to let people who are scared of change get to me for who I am
I hope this “struggle” between homophobes and gays comes to an end soon
I am a daring girl, a bisexual, a person who is loved by everyone around her
