Diary #2A Story by MissChildclosetMy closet glowing with my comfort, as I lie awake squeezing tight to the animal I called Teddy. "Please keep me safe through the night, I pray my soul to keep," I lay and curl myself tighter as if to be invisible, as if my mothers arms were tight cradling me. He sawters over, I here is smooth stealthy steps, I compress closer. The crack in between the door is darkened by shadow. It all happened so fast from there, the yelling, hitting, grumbling. So much anger coming all at once with incredible strength, relentless and uncaring. The light shines through of morning. More bruises appear everywhere swampy in color, stretching from being scrunched up all night afraid he'd be back. Karma will come around I shall not get down, stand up, chin held high, I walk proud of the bruises upon me. Me: The one who prevailed © 2010 MissChild |
