Little MonsterA Poem by AudreySeeI have now seen what is hiding within. There lives a little monster, forgotten in her room. She is ugly, fierce and mean, a shadow in the gloom. But things have not always been this way, for not too long
ago, This little monster was beautiful, a girl you would want to
know. She had hair of red, and eyes of brown, Rarely could her smile be turned to a frown. She was a blessing in her prime, Someone who knew what it meant to shine. But tears and scars and broken hearts changed her simple
ways Her heart became as black as night and her light began to
fade. Her skin turned pale and hard with scales Armor against any outside assails. She lost her light and she lost her mind, She looked in a mirror, and began to cry. “Little monster,” she said, “what have I done?” “What is this demon I have become?” And so she hid, within her room, Surrounded by darkness, doom and gloom. Try as you may to pull her out, She’ll fight you, curse you, scream and shout. She will never listen, no not in the least. For who could ever learn, to love a beast? © 2013 AudreySee |
