Collision Course

Collision Course

A Poem by Alexandria Watts

Would you calm down?
Can you learn how to drive?
I need for you to calm down and stop grabbing the wheel!
I wouldn't try to take the wheel if you didn't take everything as a joke!

I was driving
I was driving and I lost control.
But it wasn't due to just my misfortune.
My passenger had something to do with it.
I was ok the right path.I was in the right lane and I used my signal.
But as soon as my passenger found out I wasn't going their way they flipped.
Officer I swear.
I knew what I was doing but my passenger didn't.
I guess it was because I got us lost once. There were no signs no lights and no help.
They never forgot about it.
I went one way they pulled the wheel the other way and we crashed into them.
That poor family.
The scary thing is they looked like us.
Same features, same car, same clothes.
We killed them.
Our constant bickering and rants.
Our miscommunication
That's what caused the head on collision
We cause our own death.
And...we liked ourselves from the head on collision.
