Perseph

Perseph

A Poem by Miss Mary Jane
"

The artwork is a beautiful image by Susan Seddon-Boulet. Her art is inspirational. I was also listening to Florence + the Machine's new song "What the Water Gave Me."

"
Once I was free, to roam the seasons.
Guided by a mother's hand.
Once I was free, to roam Apollo's sky.
Now, I'm trapped within the fire and the land.

Astronomical amounts of rock,
pushing their weight on me.
A crushed flower,
in the fist of his hand.

To become Perseph.

I must remember,
That she is searching for me.
I must remember,
That life is not only misery.

That I will become once more,
The one who guides within her mother's glow.
That I will become once more,
The sun filled one.

To be born again,
To become the Spring.....

To become the Spring...

Yes, i feel the enlightenment blazing out reaching for vessels to inhibit! I pretty much clicked on this piece as a seed, planted myself in the words and towards the end sprouted into a century old redwood.

So beautiful! It's such a heartrending story, especially from a mother's POV, and yet shows the inevitable cycle of seasons and a woman maturing. I love your interpretation.
