The Settling of the Dawn.

The Settling of the Dawn.

A Poem by Miss Mary Jane

Uncertain of who you are, wandering, with paper and pen.
Writing on every surface you see, the attempt to attain bliss.
Fleeting moments, a glimpse in his eyes, or was it a reflection of your own?
You will not escape this, own up to these emotions, there is no need to win.

No regrets, remember this, oh these cold watery nights.
These shimmering lights, people dressed in leather and lace.
Surrounding your face, shine on.
Write your bird mad words, and sing your soul songs.

Dance to the drum beat, the white heat, calling you home.
As those wolves you once knew howl from those torrents of Time.
This great divide, of your own mythology.
The reckoning of a rise, just watch and raise your head.

Do not resist this shadow, do not resist this perversion.
It is who you were meant to be, just remember me.
Your sunshine being with gods at her side.
The child that saw it all in his eyes.

The desert, and the highway.
The city and the swamp.
Connecting, like a thousand hands.
Across her skin....

Oh wow, your style captures the core of my imagination and sets it ablaze,
I love the mystical dance that sweeps across the page, your reach into
another realm and pull these words into existence, and the reader is left
spiraling to the center of the meaning, brilliant wordplay my friend.
