In the Blink of an Eye

Eyes closed still see the whole world,

Omnisciently searching, all knowing.

Seeing your birth, your life, and your death.

There was never a beginning, just an ending.

Written in the stars and nebulas,

What has created us.

What we have created will destroy us.

In a blink of an eye, we could see our world

flip-flying by.

This piece rings with a certain truth... Yet, my mind has chosen to see it in perhaps a different context.

The world's inhabitants are eagerly awaiting the official word from the department of Space and Temporal Engineering, on when the event will occur. In less than two days, we know they will utilize their new techonology and take the entire planet back into a point in time where there will be no threat from the enlarging sun.
