The Great Pretender

The Great Pretender

A Poem by Miss Mary Jane

"Can I take your coat, come on in stop by for awhile."

You see I can stare daggers across a room, with a

beautiful smile on my face.

Don't mistake me for being fake,

I just now how to pretend,

how to hold it all in.

So if you find me one day, face first

in the carpet of a bedroom floor.

With a hole in my head, and a gun smoking in my hand.

Remember it was I, who was the Great Pretender.

Remember, that their was no better actor.
