Shattered

Shattered

A Poem by Miss Mary Jane

This is a shattered reality

That I have been living in.

The sights and the sounds

Melt together, flowing forever.

The faces of those I once knew,

I cannot see, I cannot make out

Who or what they once were.

I am stranded on this shattered

Highway.

The broken by way, this dream

Within the maddness,

Yet all I know is the saddness.

That comes with this maddness.

That even Lord Byron would envy.

Jane this is a great poem, I really like it- the aspects of shattered emotions as a downward spiral, pulling life toward the depths of turmoil-to live in broken circumstances, rendering thoe feelings that surface when the heart misses those that

are close to the heart, your words remind of thinking about someone who has passed and the grief that would follow with such memories, perhaps the madness in an all
consuming angry aspect, the whole give and take design, the image of a shattered

reality is vivid in the way one pictures a broken mirror, broken reflection, shards in a million pieces, and where to start picking up the pieces, a shattered highway were the abandoned emotions travel, where the hopeless journey to places unknown
I particuarly like the punctuating ending.. its classic, and brings it all together
Take Care, Mike
