Endless NightA Poem by Miss Mary JaneTears meet delicate fears that stream through me. Scream through me. On this part of the highway I can not go on. The road is short and yet the night is long. A ghost is singing my name,"Sweet Jane.."
Silently it begins to rain. Loudly it echoes in my brain. All the children are insane, out here under the stars, where you can't hear the honks and beeps of city streets.
My world echoes within the maddness I am left with. I'm afraid because they say I'm insane. Just like my father before me. This cloud that hangs over me.
His face haunts me, his words are just another spin on my mythology. This wreck, this slaughter on the dimly lit highway. Maybe one day I will move on from this piece of broken sanctuary, but until then I will hold onto this shadow like a dear friend, never to be seen again.
