Endless Night

Endless Night

A Poem by Miss Mary Jane

Tears meet delicate fears that stream through me.

Scream through me. On this part of the highway

I can not go on. The road is short and yet the night

is long. A ghost is singing my name,"Sweet Jane.."

Silently it begins to rain. Loudly it echoes in my

brain. All the children are insane, out here under

the stars, where you can't hear the honks and beeps

of city streets.

My world echoes within the maddness I am left with.

I'm  afraid because they say I'm insane.

Just like my father before me. This cloud that

hangs over me.

His face haunts me, his words are just another spin

on my mythology. This wreck, this slaughter on the

dimly lit highway. Maybe one day I will move on from

this piece of broken sanctuary, but until then I will

hold onto this shadow like a dear friend, never to be

seen again.

I like this poem. It reminds me a bit of your other poem, 'Girl'. You have been writing awhile. I see you have pages of material. And were one of the ones who never backed up your stuff and lost it in the great crash. Another friend of mine also lost all her stuff. I believe this is the best of what I have read of your material so far. I'm a rhyming type poet, some of my stuff lacks polish quality. You've got that in this poem. Its a nice read.
According to your bio. you have lost a good deal. But it seems you're well on to way to make it up.
