City Poetry: Liar

City Poetry: Liar

A Poem by Miss Mary Jane
"

I'm listening to a song on Stacey's profile called, "Cry Wolf," and this is what I created.

"

Eye closed, all alone.

Sunlight filled the

smoke-filled room.

Her hair was down,

falling down her back.

As she swayed to

the softest of strums.

A beating guitar,

like a living heart.

Giving life, while

death still lingers

in the air.

Eyes closed, all alone.

Telling herself lies.

Liar, Liar, Liar,

She found power.

Wow.....so not where I imagined the title would take me, which is a great effect I think. Also.....how sublime. There's such a peace living in this poem despite a sadness of death lingering. I can almost picture the smokey room, hear the light strumming...and feeling the power eminate from her. Most excellent. Great job on this one, it's like a blanket on a cool night. Not quite sure why it's having that effect on me....but it is. Good write, MMJane, good write.

Rawrrr! I am still jealous of your imagery skills and I don't think I'll ever stop complimenting you on that lol Every time I read your poems I read them very very slowly and I can picture everything and it's wonderful!
