Forgiveness

Written a while back.

Forgive me for thinking
That you cared about me.
Forgive me for feeling
That you would always be there for me.
Forgive me for saying
That you were the one I loved.
Forgive me for dreaming
That you and I would be together.
Forgive me for imagining
That you actually loved me back.
Forgive me for enjoying
That you talked to me about everything.
Forgive me for rejoicing
That you hated her but liked me.
Forgive me for fearing
That you would realize what a burden I am
Forgive me for assuming
That you would always be, at least, my friend

Forgive me for crying when you left.
Forgive me for never trusting anyone again.
Forgive me for breaking down inside whenever I see you.
Forgive Me For Falling For You.

I love this! I like the rhythm, repetition is one of my favorite things in poetry and it drives home your point loud and clear. I really connected with what you're saying, that feeling when the love you have for someone is suddenly wrong, like they don't even want it, and you have to apologize for giving that gift.
