Bare

Bare

A Poem by Misfits Girl

It’s been raining
And I’ve watched the droplets roll off the leaves
While I wait for you
Silently lost in my view

Count the hours
As the drops fall like the second hand
Forever ticking away
Marking the time I stay

It always seems to long
That something could be wrong
I’d lost you all along
Waiting to belong

It feels foolish
As the light begins to break
That here I sit
Trapped with reasons I can’t admit

The simple answer
Walk away though I crave you
My most perfect addiction
The most painful affliction

The rain hammers ever more
I’m as silent as before
I cannot wait I must implore
Your the drug I adore
