Shards

Shards

A Poem by Misfits Girl

How much can a single soul carry
How much can a single person hold
It’s slipping from my grip
And the result will be untold

I’m stretched in every direction
I’m falling from my feet
Everybody is taking a piece of me
And the insides are spilt on the concrete

It feels like my secrets are laid out bare
It feels like everyone is reading
These thoughts that twirl in my head
That burn and fight with the bleeding

The time speeds by the more I listen
The problems people unload
Tearing so deep into my flesh
My sanity will explode

Troubles they share
Troubles they pass
Attach to my soul
And shatter me like glass

All take a piece
All take and leave
Leave me in this pile
To crash burn and grieve

I really like how you start the first and second line with questions. It gets the reader thinking from the very beginning. Emotion is jumping out at you, Great piece!
