Lined Peace

Lined Peace

A Poem by Misfits Girl

Hand prints soaking into wood
A private picture for you in blood
Hang it high and stare it down
Hope the drops will help me drown

Dread the sounds of snapping bone
Realisation that your alone
Remould and rebuild the skin
As the heat begins to sets in

Needle and thread push slowly tight
It’s the vain attempt at making things right
If you don’t see the marks then you won’t see the stains
You won’t see the scar tissue clinging to my veins

The soul is in pieces and fighting for air
Reaching the surface to strain and to tear
Desperation fuelling the race
To break and ruin to throw this in your face

Bleeding and tearing as it goes
My sanity laid out in prose
Finally slumping into the wall
The vessel for trouble yet so small
