For Shania

For Shania

A Story by Misery
"

Ehh, just me writing while I felt like s**t the other day.

"

I sat on my steps enjoying my last cigarette. There I saw a lonely tree. No leave, it stood there in the frost perfectly still. I continued watching, so cold, so alone, until, a single bird landed on one of it’s branches. It stayed for only a moment before leaving. Once more alone, I saw when I gazed at the tree… beauty.

Then I thought about her once again. How happy I was when she would look up at me and smile before her eyes closed again. I continued to run my fingers through her hair. She asked me, “Do, you love me?”

Her crooked innocent smile. I felt the surge of emotion before answering her once again, “I do baby,” Her eyes closed once again. I turned my attention back onto the road, staring at the passing trees. It was a long road, darkened by night. I wished it would have never ended.
