Disappointment

Disappointment

A Poem by Jackelyn Ramirez

I had such high standards for you.
You made everything better
and now I sit here and wonder 'why you?'
I've been sitting here thinking day and night
About what could've been...

It's been a year now.
And I came to a conclusion
It’s you.
You were the one person that never disappointed me.
Well-
I guess I spoke too soon.

Your mere presence makes my heart ache
Your name brings tears to my eyes
I want to forget.
But how do you forget the one who let you down?

-Misanthropy.
