These Words

Healing A Shattered Soul - Michael

The words,

Softly spoken

"Don't turn away from me"

a helpless figure

lying prone on the bed,

shaking in remembered terror

and longing

for a hidden promise

"We'll help you,

if you'll let us"

again, softly spoken,

and meaning so much more,

symbolizing a rebirth of hope,

of caring, moving past the forbidden prejudices,

"he wasn't what l expected,

but regardless of past hurts

l think it's time to see past the lies"

and a hand lovingly stroking

sweat-drenched hair

as terror widens

dark eyes

and tightens what was once

a full, sensuous mouth

"help me, please,

l want to be whole"

a desperate plea

whispered for any who will listen

but accepting only one offer

in the heart of the possibility

that maybe

just this once

someone will take care of you

"always, l promise;

we'll never let you down again"

and in the therapy room

when you break down

and tears flow without visible restraint

but with an audible

clenching of fists to regain control

you'll know

you're not alone

Author's Note

Misa
This was how l developed the 3 main characters to Healing, l think in a way it worked out pretty good. Still reworking it all though.

Writing. To me, it's been the one constant in my life, but also the most frustrating. Over the past 5 years, l would say it's been more nonexistent than otherwise, but never has the yearning - the ne.. more..
