Our Star

Our Star

A Poem by MiriamMB
"

An passing of an acquaintance had me thinking...

"

Our world lost a star and

the universe yawned

It’s a wonder how everything saunters on

Without a glance backwards

While our star turned inward and decayed

Right before our eyes

Though some had turned away

And now bitterly

regret those few moments

of doing so.

Darkness descended

And a winter we thought

we’d never know again began.

What I wouldn’t give

To drench my skin with her warmth

And flood my shadowed corners

With her smile,

To bask

 in her light again

What I wouldn’t give to have known

How to keep her light from fading.
